Amazing Concert Panorama

Once again it’s time for one of those marvellous images from the Internet that the Picture Frames Express team loves. That’s right it’s another amazing fully interactive 360 degree panoramic image to feast your eyes on!

Check out the Take That Progress Live 360 Wembley Photo.

Take That panoramic picture

Although not as big as the 80 gigapixel panorama of London we previously posted, this 20 gigapixel panorama of Take That’s recent concert at Wembley stadium is truly impressive. The panorama takes in everything from the band onstage and their giant stage prop, to the screaming girls in the front row and the steward stood on the very back row. It even allows each every individual fan that packed into the stadium to tag themselves on Facebook.

If you were there with friends and have found your group within the crowd then we think you should have multi picture frames made as a memento for everyone. You could have a picture of you and your friends in the crowd, a close up one of the band and one of the whole stage. This would look great in any of our styles of picture frames and be a great reminder of the sell out concert.

If you were there and have tagged yourself, then why not let the Picture Frames Express team know.

Till next time.

Picture Frames – Make Or Break An Artpiece

An ancient proverb says a picture is equal to thousand words.

What about picture frames? The main function of a picture or photo frame is to protect and highlight the content it holds.

A beautiful work of art can be made to look drab by framing it improperly, using wrong materials. Similarly an excellent frame can definitely enhance the beauty of the picture it holds.

Plenty of choice

There are many types of frame and mount to choose from, the problem is deciding which is most suitable for the picture or photograph; a difficult task.

A wrong choice and you lose the contented feeling you get when you look at a work of art.

Occasionally, pictures are abnormal in size so you need custom picture frames. To complement the picture and help it merge with ambience of the room, frame colour and texture are everything.

Picture and photo frames of standard sizes are not expensive and they can be bought from almost anywhere. To suit our individual style and also to enhance the quality of the pictures, care should be taken to incorporate these factors when we select standard picture or photo frames.

Mounts

Picture frames come in hundreds of colours, different shapes and a wide variety of materials which will complement the interior decoration.

The photo frames are made of pewter, stainless, ceramics, composites and crystal. Your budget is the only criteria to select the best available design and material.

Picture frames can be artful in their own right with wide borders, bright and bold colour. Try to avoid a picture frame which overwhelms the image it carries.

For the contemporary home select metal frames in darker shades such as black, copper, gold or silver. To get a Mediterranean style select bold white frames. To create an antique Victorian look ornate gilded frames are the best choice to highlight beautiful art and special prints.

The children’s room will get a youthful atmosphere by using plastic frames in vivid colours.

Avoid metal frames to encase valuable pieces of art. They are priced moderately and sold as kits with their backs open. This makes the contents exposed to dust and moisture.

With proper tools and after little practice you can make your own wooden picture frames and it is a correct choice for original arts, limited edition prints and other valuable photos.

Brighten up your walls

Spring is fast approaching picture framers!

Households across the land are throwing out all the bland winter furnishings, replacing browns with blues, beige with pink and sofas with deck chairs! The cloudy cover that has plagued us for no-end is finally starting to crack and the flora & fauna are beginning to show signs of life and colour.

What better time for a fresh start and to prepare your home for the sunshine? When you pull back your curtains you want your room to glow with natural light, and what could be better to brighten up a room than a little well framed floral photography!

A well placed picture frame can change the entire feel of a room, imagine a large framed photograph with an array of blues, whites and browns… The connotations of those colours can create a chill in the air. In contrast, the warm and inviting colours in the picture above can add a feeling of warmth and open air; complimenting a photo like this with a few warm coloured furnishing and a little paint can bring a room to life ready for the spring!

But no photo would be complete without a well chosen picture frame – and thats our speciality!

If you’re looking to redecorate and need a few fancy new picture frames to accent your walls, we suggest you check out the fantastic range of picture frames we have on offer here at pictureframesexpress.co.uk!

We offer a fully customisable range to suit your taste an style to any size!

Surreal, but real this time.

Following a good few posts on surreal digital artists, we would like to show that surreal imagery isn’t always digital!

In the form of a relatively short post featuring some brilliant surreal paintings, as in: real, hand-painted paintings! Which is a welcome break from all the digitally altered, created and manipulated stuff; though still a fascinating topic for us to cover!

A fantastic Russian-born painter specialises in just the sort of perception twisting surreal imagery that we love so much here at Picture Frames Express.

His name… Is Vladmir Kush!

We suggest clicking the paintings to open them fullsize in a new window, it’s the only way to truly admire the detail and care that has gone into creating such masterpieces!

Banana Hammock

Brilliant Metaphor.

Back to black (and white)

It’s amazing how the saturation of an image can totally alter the message it conveys, for example: imagine a photograph of a beautiful blue sky, littered with clouds and a vibrant rainbow spanning the width of the image… now think of that in black & white. The emotions it can spark turn 180 degrees and the connotations of the image are almost reversed. Most people associate black & white photography with a long gone age of sepia family portraits and torn edged Polaroids, but black & white photography is just as popular today as it ever has been. Perhaps more so with the emergent age of digital photography and photo manipulation we have discussed so much, the capabilities of a black & white photo are increased almost tenfold!

Below are some examples we think show off the brilliant nostalgic feeling that a desaturated image can draw from your thoughts!

Even though photosurrealism isn’t in the dictionary, we think it is more than suited to this type of digital art.

Framing Digital Illustration

Mr Burns

Excellent Digital Art

Following with our last posts theme of digital illustration, we are going to introduce one of our new favourite artists of the digital age… Tiago Hoisel.

Hoisel is responsible for some of the greatest digital illustrations available on the web, his fantastic caricature style combined with the photo-realistic shading and lighting effects creates an almost true to life image that would dazzle the likes of Da Vinci and Donatello.

Below are a few of our choice favourites, hopefully they impress you as much as they did us!

Mr Burns

Fantastically real adaption of a well known fictional personailty.

Has digital photography gone to the dogs? Dogs Filmed At 1000 Frames Per Second

A dogs life in Picture Frames

After our last post about life in spring we thought we’d take a closer look at one of mans best friend, Dogs!

You’d be forgive for thinking dogs and digital photography isn’t exactly going to be ground breaking. You would of course be wrong, barking possibly (sorry)

The following video from pedigree chum is a collection of hounds filmed at 1000 frames per second and some of the expressions they manage to capture are surprisingly human. (more…)
