What is the size of a frame or mount?
The size of a frame is the size of a piece of glazing which will fit into a frame. When a frame is ordered we add 3 - 5mm to the size requested unless specifically asked not to, this is so the piece can breathe & fits.
When mounts are ordered the outside measurements requested will be the EXACT outside measurements cut to a tolerance of within 2mm the same applies to the aperture an exact size to a tolerance of within 2mm.>
What type of glazing comes with the frames?
Every frame we send includes 2mm Crystal Clear' XT ' pLEXIGLASS.It's the modern, clean & safe alternative to traditional Glass glazing.This material is shatterproof, distortion and warp free has standard UV protection & Conforms to the latest BSI safety standards.
Most frames sold in major department stores use acrylic glazing and most customers are unaware. The only problem with acrylic is that if cleaned vigorously it can sometimes scratch.
Can we use traditional glass glazing if it's really necessary?
We prefer not to send glass by courier. If glass does break in transit it's highly likely that the glass will damage the frame & anything else within the same parcel. Smaller frames are usually no problem but it's at your risk. If you accept this risk, place your order as normal & e-mailor include the instruction in the special instructions box.
You are welcome to come and collect your order if glass is essential. For larger contract orders we use our own delivery so glass is no problem.We charge the same price per meter square as acrylic if glass is required.
We have received our Order but the acrylic appears to be discolored or scratched?
The acrylic we use is 2mm crystal clear original plexiglass, It comes with a heavy protective plastic cover on BOTH sides of the glazing, Sometimes White, sometimes clear but mostly Blue.This has to be removed from both sides of the glazing before using your frame; occasionally we will get a telephone call saying the glazing is Blue, white or scratched!! - This is the reason
The Images on-line - how accurate are they?
Every Frame Chevron Image and Mount Chevron image Displayed in The picture Frame and picture Mount Sections are a combination of high resolution scans and photographs of the Actual product Scanned or photographed at the highest resolution possible for HTML (web site) display with no colour / tone / shade or shadow adjustment - We do this to give the best representation of the product when displayed under normal conditions Which would of course include Shadows.
All Images are presented in good faith but it is important to note that as they are graphical representations they may not be to scale or represent the true nature of the product for the reasons detailed below.
All Computers have Different Graphic Capability, Moniters and settings, therfore it is impossible to offer a 100% true Representation of any image / product on 100% of systems 100% of the time, even the Angle at which you view your screen Will effect the colour / tone / shadow of the image / product.
If frame colour / mount colour / tone / size is critical, we can send out a small off cut of moulding for £ 2.00 and a small Offcut of mountboard for £ 0.35p per piece.
The best way to view a moulding is to Click PROFILE PREVIEW. This will display the actual base image of the moulding Including shadows which will be the best possible representation of the product we can offer for the reasons explained above.
I intend to frame more than one picture/ image, how precise is the layout preview?
All apertures cut into the mount board are centred and aligned in relation to each other and the external size of the mount board. 99% of multi-aperture mounts present no alignment or justification issue, however, If the layout contains a large number of apertures in multiple rows and columns and or orientation we reserve the right to use our professional opinion in regard to spacing and alignment and we may not follow the preview image or central spacing as generated by the preview image on-line.
We also reserve the right to increase or reduce the Overall size of the frame and or mount to make the Openings required fit and look in propertion We Would Never reduce or increase the Opening sizes as we know for you this is the critical part of the product.
If a certain layout is critical a diagram needs to be supplied to us with every possible detail contact us and will advise. The completed image of a finished frame / mount combination is for representation only and may not be to scale.
We can place products into the shopping cart but when we checkout it is empty?
This will happen if you internet browser is blocking Cookies. This site & nearly all web sites using a shopping cart system rely on cookies being ' enabled ' to check - internet explorer - For most p.c's - start menu >control panel >internet options >privacy.
The system is designed to operate with this setting on medium high Microsoft's recommended default is medium. Safari - Apple Mac - Safari menu >preferences >Security the system is designed to operate with 'Cookies' enabled or Enabled from site's you navigate to.

Can we have samples?
Yes, we charge £ 2.00 for each 100mm sample of moulding & 0.35p for each 40mm x 40mm mount sample This includes Shipping & VAT within mainland UK . If you require Chevrons (Corner pieces) for a gallery or display board, we charge for 1/2 of meter of moulding chosen.
Any Complete frame samples are charged at list price. A maximum of five frame sample charges (Excluding Chevrons & postage) are refunded on orders over £ 125.00.
To order samples, e-mail your request along with your name, delivery address & postcode we will then Send you a quote for your samples with an order number, you then telephone up, quote the number & we can take a telephone payment.
Do you have items in stock?
Yes, all of the mouldings & Mount boards you see on the site are in stock all of the time. If we are out of stock of anything it's normal to have the item back in stock within a couple of workings days
There's a frame I use but I can't see it on line can you get it?
probably, if it's available in the U.K & the quantity you require is £ 250.00 + if you scan a piece of the frame and then e-mail it or post it to us we will see what we can do.
Frame Code and description, what do they mean?
Frames in the Black, coloured, dark, gold, light & silver frame sections are made from wood with the exception of frames with a lower cased ( c ) after the frame description, For Example - C28 - 29mm Ornate gold ( c ) - ( c ) Stands for Composite, this may be Emafyl, polcore or Mdf, Both emafyl & polcore are formed plastics & mdf is medium density fiber.
Frames in the Natural Section Are made from the Actual material in the description, with no stain, varnish, or color For example - J4 Ash is Ash, J6 Oak is Oak, if a stain, varnish or lacquer is used it will be clearly indicated within the description of the frame, for example - k95 45mm Lacquered Oak, is 45mm Lacquered Oak.
Grain, tone & shade of all Natural frames can vary, even within the same frame.
If we belive there can be any confusion regarding frame colour or tone this will be included within the code of the for example A4 - 20mm Mahogany gold line is a 20mm Mahogany frame with a gold line.
Frames in the Aluminum section are made from first grade solid aluminum, the best available.
Frames which include the code ( Hr ) within the code are high relief picture frame mouldings and by their very nature ( the deep pattern ) when cut and mitred, the pattern will not match on each section, which will be noticable if viewing the corner from an unusual angle, ie - not straight on.
This is perfectly normal and not a manufacturing or material defect
Descriptions used in all sections except ' Natural ' are simply our interpretation of the colour / shade / shape / tone description of the frame.
Each batch of moulding may be slightly different to that as displayed on-line, Frame width & Rebate dimensions are accurate to within 5mm. if in any doubt telephone or e-mail & we will advise.
How constant are the products - In case of re-order or dimensions are critical?
We source products from different suppliers and each consignment of product may be slightly different to that as advertised or previously supplied.Mount card can be slightly lighter or slightly darker, frames can be slightly lighter, darker, a few mm bigger or smaller in width, depth and or rebate.
As a guide frame dimension's are accurate to within 5mm and mounts to within 2mm If you are repeating an order we cannot guarentee frame or moulding sizes and or Mount colour to be 100% identical as previously supplied even if the product code is identical.

I am trying to upload an image in made to measure but it will not let me?
The upload section is written to accept all popular image formats & sizes, however, if the image is 600 x 800 pixels or above, to avoid excess load on our server an error messageand the file will not be uploaded, If you reduce the total image size in increments of 20%, it will take no longer than three attempts for it work.
Can I get cheaper prices than of that shown on-line?
If you are buying large quantities or using another supplier, E-mail or telephone with the details & we will treat each request individually.
We think the prices we offer are correct for the product and service we offer ? we are skilled manufacturers using the Best materials and Latest equipment , From the initial order to sticking the shipping label on the box we have systems in place to ensure it is the best it can be.
Every section of frame is individually cut using one of our horizontal cross cut saws, checked, Glued and double pinned for tight corners, each piece of glazing and backing is machine cut for size, popped into the frame and then finished by hand. Mounts are cut using the latest CNC computer controlled mount-cutters for perfect mounts every time.
This all takes time & as time is the main factor in our prices to compromise the quality of product to save time to reduce price's, is not an ethic we adhere to - We never try to compete pricing with any imported product.
We live outside the Advertised shipping zones, Can we still do business?
Unfortunatly not, the reason for this is the increased likleyhood of damage due to the parcle being handled three or four times more than a UK delivery and Tracking.
When a parcle leaves the UK for forwarding, it gets handed to an agent in the destination country which we have no direct contact with, language is also an issue, however if you wish to accept full liability for the parcel then we can send it to you at your own risk of damage and tracking.
Do you ship to BFPO ? British forces post office?
Unfortunatly not, the simple reason for this is for security reasons parcel tracking is not available after the parcel leaves London BFpO for forwarding , if you wish to accept full liability for the parcel then we can send it to you at your own risk. Contact us for more information.
We live in the channel Isle's. How does the VAT (Value added Tax) Work?
We have structured the system to calculate VAT after the postage screen, so when the channel isle's is selected as the postal zone the system will automatically bypass any VAT due on the order.
Can we set up an account with you?
1. A basic account where we issue an account number, this can be used to generate a fixed discount which is generally 20% off the entire range. An order history of ?250.00 or more in the previous 6 months prior to application is required. To open this type of account e-mail you order history and we will send you an account form to complete, sign and send back by post. If this type of account is activated and not used within a three month period it will expire and a re-application will be necessary.
2. A credit account - this type of account is only available to VAT registered company's trading for at least 3 years & have placed at least one Order with us previously, an application form will be sent to you along with our full terms of credit and trading, once this has been verified and checked we will issue an account number, this will enable you to by-pass the payment screen & generate an on-line purchase order to our company from yours, we can then invoice you as normal according to the terms and conditions set by application.
The maximum credit we offer on start up is £ 1000.00 with 30 days strict credit and a fixed 20% discount across the range, which will get reviewed based on order history and or value.
If this type of account is activated and not used within a six month period it will expire and a re-application will be necessary. To apply for this type of account please e-mail and we can send you an application form.
If you are a school, college, university or authority we can accept any order providing a ' HARD COPY ' purchase order is raised, signed and sent to us in the post. When this is accepted and checked we can then proceed with the order, invoice the appropriate department and offer 30 days credit. As credit is being offered we can not accept verbal, telephone or e-mailed instruction.
Account holders using our purchase order system are Strictly 30 days nett from date of invoice and we reserve the right to charge interest at 2.5% per calendar month on any accounts remaining unpaid beyond the 30 days credit period.
What are your payment terms ?
payment for all goods / services is in pounds Sterling.
Any new business where Opening a credit account or using a Credit card for payment is not available or practical we can send a quote for the goods / services required & accept the order on a pro-forma basis. Once payment has been cleared by our bank we can manufacture the order. - please note : Clearance of funds ready for manufacture can take up to ten days from receiving payment.
I've received a quote, how long is it valid for?
All quotes are valid for 4 weeks.
Do you have a hard copy catalogue which you can send?
No. Our current stock, prices & products available are shown on-line.
May I copy on-line images or content?
No. Not without the written consent and signed agreement of Frame-expresspicture framers LTD.
I have submitted an order, we need to Change or Cancel it?
E-mail immediately with your requirements and then call 02476 593529 to confirm we have your instruction by e-mail,We cannot be responsible for any instruction by e-mail which is not confirmed by telephone.If the order has not been manufactured we will remove it from our system and Refund all monies paid. We do not accept verbal instruction to adjust any order.Instruction has to be by e-mail.
If an order is manually / verbally changed we are not responsible for any delay or error.In the Event of a cancellation of order which has been manufactured, not collected by courier and on our premises there is a 60% Manufacturing charge for the goods incurred - 40% of the value of the goods, postage & VAT applicable will be refunded. If an order has been Manufactured, collected by courier and not on our premises there is no recourse for any refund of any monies paid.

I have received my order but there seems to be something missing?
E-mail immediately if goods have been ordered correctly and not sent with your order, please accept our apologies & we will correct the issue as soon as possible at your convenience.
As we are manufacturers of our own products we have written this website to give you Full control over what is Available to order.
When a standard size or made to measure frame is selected for order, glazing, backing & a hanging kit are automatically pre-selected as these are the usual components required.
If glazing or backing is unchecked the cost is deducted from the cost & not sent with the frame, if neither is selected from the hanging / standing options then no hanging / standing facility will be charged for or sent with the frame. If goods have not being ordered but are required, we will send you a quote by e-mail for the items you require.
24hr / 48hr shipping, Is this from when I submit my order?
No. 24hr / 48hr Shipping is the time it takes for you to get your order after your order has been manufactured. Not the time it takes from when you submit your order.
This would be a fantastic claim to make and would be a great selling point but is not realistic, as we are the manufacturer. There are many reasons why we do not claim to offer this service - we get very busy periods throughout the year, can be out of stock of items, machines can break down etc.
We make no claim which suggests orders will be with you 24/48 hrs after they have been placed. When the postage zone is selected we advise that 'shipping is from manufacture and to check the latest manufacture times. We do this to ensure it cannot be missed, read or understood before an order is submitted. We are not responsible for delay in goods not ordered in good time for manufacture and delivery or if the delivery section is not read and understood.
What is your returns policy?
Every picture Frame and picture Mount we supply is personalised for you ( Made to your specification, Manufactured ) As we are manufacturing goods to your specification we cannot offer refund on these items. In accordance with the supply of goods and services act 1992 in the unlikley event of damage / incorrect order / unsatisfactory goods and or workmanship. We will get the goods collected from you at our expense - The same day if possible. When we have the goods back for inspection Usually within two days, we will Inspect the goods for the damage and then Re-manufacture the goods to the exact specification as order. The goods will then be sent back to you at our expense and at your convenience and well within a reasonable time as outlined by legislation.
We do not accept ANY return unless pre-arranged or agreed by us. If goods are returned to us which are not arranged / agreed to return by us, we will keep them in our return department for four weeks & then they will be disposed of.
