Fresh Framing for Interiors

Fresh Framing for Interiors

We absolutely love houzz.com for some interior design inspiration; it’s a handy site where everyday homeowners and the professionals who redesign homes all come together to show off their works of art. With this in mind, and Easter just around the corner, we thought we would take some of their inspiration and feed it through to you, showcaseing the striking ways people have used frames in their rooms in a fresh way with some striking results, just in case you’re looking to spruce up your home this holiday.

Wallpaper paneling

There are so many amazing wallpaper designs and patterns out there it can be hard to choose one that you could live with across your walls, particularly with the more elaborate prints. We love what Elizabeth Bomberger has done with fabric inlay below. Rather than do a complete feature wall of your chosen ‘signature wallpaper’ we think Elizabeth was onto something and that by using larger frames and your favourite wallpaper/fabrics you could create a truly standout feature for your rooms.

Double Framing

Give your room a contemporary edge with double framing. Have your pictures framed as normal but then look to create a modern display by picking a much larger frame to encompass both your framed image and some other decorative items as MJ Lanphier has done below.

Display in a Frame

Who says you need to display a picture within your frame? We think this interior setup by Kasey Buick looks great with the use of open white frames to break up the Lichen shade walls.

Notice Board

We’ve talked about them before but the framed notice board is a real favourite of ours! See below how Sarah from Sarah St Amand designs has created a noticeboard using a great printed fabric and trim from a building store but an empty picture frame would work great too.

TV Framing

Looking to tie your tv more into its surroundings? Ami Designs has done so by framing this Tv to create a great home theatre area!

Frame Mouldings

Spruce up your walls with some frame mouldings like how Advantage Contracting has done below. They are a great way to add depth and detail to your walls and help to break up paintwork with a high-class finish.

Fireplace Framing

We love the way A Waters has used a picture frame style frame for this fireplace, the wood adds a sense of authentic aging to the feature.
